CONGRATULATIONS on a great job! We have already realized benefits from the system by pulling the inbound lists over the past week. The system has tremendous capabilities and will significantly enhance our in-plant car management. Thanks for a job well done.

Just wanted to let you know we got our scanner and actually used it for the first time earlier this week. Worked great! Wonderfully simple! Thanks for the great help.

Installation of railcar readers at the loading racks and integration between our plant process control system and the Rail Manager system has been operating flawlessly for several months now. This has eliminated recurring problems with manual data entry errors, improving customer relationships and saving enough to pay for the system already!

We run a 24x7 manufacturing process that's very expensive to shut down and start back up. Disruptions due to railcar supply are simply not an option. Rail Manager gives the plant a good handle on inbound/outbound traffic, the location and status of cars in yard, and the flow of incoming empty cars. It gives us improved visibility into yard conditions and the insight to help us ensure that we have the right cars in the right place at the right time. Reduced spending on emergency car storage and avoiding the risk of a manufacturing shutdown are key benefits.

We started railcar tracking with a competitor's product. It looked OK on paper but was not good enough to actually be used in the rail yard day in and day out. Our decision to replace that software with your Rail Mobile product has proven to be a good one. Our application is a success and has rapidly become an integral cornerstone of the operation.
Systems Manager, Frontier Logistics
If we get too many cars on site, we get gridlocked and can't switch efficiently. If we have too few loadable cars on site, we're putting the manufacturing operations at risk and increasing the costs of offsite car storage. EI Systems work to help integrate forecasts for inbound car flow, loading schedules and outbound shipping plans with real-time yard data in Rail Manager has really changed this operation from a crisis-driven reactionary process to a planned and pro-active system. I'm spending a lot less time fighting fires and am very pleased with the savings. My thanks to the whole team!

I wanted to express my appreciation for the job EI Systems did on the PTAS/PTRACS interface to SAP. SAP now requires frequent updates of consumption and production data on a 24x7 basis. We came to realize that doing this manually – especially in Polymers – would be a huge effort with high error risk and lots of ongoing rework. Automation looked mandatory. We gave EI Systems a project scope only a month before we needed the product and they still managed to pull it together. EI Systems’ knowledge of how our business works let this be pretty much a hands-off project from BP’s perspective. With any other contractor we’d have had to commit at least a 50% FTE, probably at engineering skill level or higher, to get this done.

The project team added to his challenge. When we went home last Friday, the game plan was to begin sending test data from plant systems up to SAP on Thursday of this week. When we came back in on Sunday, we found that they had changed the schedule without telling us and wanted to get it operating immediately. We paged EIS that afternoon and asked for help. The EI Systems guys have been testing furiously (something we were not allowed to do before cutover), found a fixed an elusive bug that was unrelated to their work, and we’re now successfully sending data to SAP. Their ‘can do’ attitude makes working with them a real pleasure.

“Just a note of thanks for your efforts last Friday in trying to get someone to respond to the needs of the plant to reestablish the correct location of the files for Masterbatch calculations to the correct spot on the I drive.
Your help is greatly appreciated. I can not be sure when or who fixed the issue but I just now was contacted by the help desk for the ticket I called in around 9:30 Friday morning. I will work to move the files and change the macros to allow the directory to be accessed for repair without the need to contact the help desk in the future should an identical problem occur as a result of their inability to respond in a timely manner.”

Each of you has worked to support the SAP transition at Chocolate and Cedar Bayou. In appreciation of the efforts of all you unsung SAP heroes, you will receive monogrammed shirts and be featured on CBTV in the coming weeks. We still have a few issues to handle in the coming weeks, but everyone has done their part to make the system operational on a day to day basis.

“I appreciate you being up at midnight to handle this cutoff exactly at month end”

“It has been so much more efficient working with you than with the offshore group. We may be saving money on them, but we're losing much more in productivity on our end. Please pass that on to the projects group as well”
